The Great Painting Event
on 10th July

On the day of the Great Painting Event everyone is encouraged to paint, draw and make art together. Your choice of technique! You can participate alone, together, in a group or as part of an event. The event celebrates the birthday of the Finnish artist Helene Schjerfbeck and also the Day of Finnish Visual Art. The Great Painting Event has been organised since 2011.

In different parts of Finland groups are organising free events (in individual cases, there may be a course or gallery fee) and happenings where you can easily join in. More information about places you can find in the website called Tapahtumapaikat.

You can share pictures of your artwork (with your name, name of artwork and city) or event in Instagram #maalaustapahtuma @maalaustapahtuma or share them on events main page in Facebook ww.facebook.com/maalaustapahtuma.

Our goal is to share joy of art nationally in Finland. Who would you like to delight in by exhibiting, collaborative work or donating your work? Would you like to organize a painting event? Would you like to arrange a painting moment in your nursing home?

The organiser of the event is The Finnish Watercolor Society. It has invited different organisations to participate in the event such as art associations, communes, municipalities, nursing homes, hospitals, kindergartens and clubs.
